The fashion world kept the momentum going from December and kicked the New Year off right with Fashion Week in Paris, awards shows, celebrity design partnerships and more.
The blog-o-sphere was energized with awesome winter fashion around the world as well, and as fashion resolutions were being made, we hunted down the best of the best just for you in this month’s Fashion Round Up.
Celebrity Style at Paris Fashion Week
January kicks off the unveiling of the hottest looks for Spring and Summer during the fabulous spectacle that is Paris Fashion Week. The Haute Couture lines were especially breathtaking, and we fell in love with some of the bridal looks from Zuhair Murad and Elie Saab. We dished on some of our top favorite couture designers here, but we were also completely loving some of the celebrity style at the shows.
Twilight darling Kristen Stewart made an appearance and channeled her chic with her short sexy hair, black and white combo and amazing platform lace up booties.
Shailene Woodley, the leading lady in this summer’s smash Divergent, channeled her inner hippie with her hair casually swept off her face and this beautiful neutral dress. We loved how she accessorized with a pop of springtime color in her heels.
And finally, model Kendall Jenner showed us that she really does know fashion in her smart red pantsuit. And those shoes? Love!
Celebrity Designs for Fendi
Fendi launched their newest bag design, the 3Baguette, in late December and it was a hit. In January they announced that they’re partnering with some mega celebrities who will create five custom, exclusive designs that will be auctioned off to charities the celebrities choose.
Whose incredible designs will you have a chance to bid on? None other than absolute fashion icon and singer Rhianna, Carrie Bradshaw herself Sarah Jessica Parker, British model Jourdan Dunn, Man Repeller founder Leandra Medine, and artist Rachel Feinstein.
The stars have chosen to support not for profits based on their personal interests. Rhianna will support her own Clara Lionel Foundation, one that she found in 2012 in honor of her grandparents. Sarah Jessica Parker’s proceeds are supporting The Brain Trauma foundation, while Jourdan Dunn has chosen The Sickle Cell Disease Association of America as her son has the disease. Leandra Medine will support the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, and Rachel Fienstien has chosen the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.
There’s nothing we love more than a fabulous handbag, except maybe one that gives back to worthy causes.
We were sad to learn that legendary women’s footwear designer and fashion icon Vince Camuto passed away from cancer in late January, but with every great loss comes a reason to celebrate life.
Camuto put his stamp on fashion by co-founding Nine West, and later created Camuto Group who became known as an industry leader for design in fashion footwear. His licenses included influential fashion designers like Tory Burch and BCBG, and he is to be thanked for contributing so much to fashion, glamour, and life in his 78 years.
Awards Show Fashion
There are few things a true fashionista loves more than awards show season, and we are no exception. The month kicked off with the Golden Globes, and we couldn’t get enough of the glamor and accessories on the Red Carpet. To see who wore our favorites, be sure to check out our recap of everything from pearls to purses here.
The Screen Actors Guild Awards followed later in the month on January 25th, and as expected the stars were out for the pre-Oscars awards show in their most couture looks yet.
Some of our favorites included blonde bombshell Reese Witherspoon in Giorgio Armani and Harry Winston jewelry.
Rashida Jones caught our eye in her bold black and white floral print by Emanuel Ungaro. We loved the turquoise detail, and thought the cut was just divine.
Finally, Emma Stone went with a beautiful classic black look by Christian Dior Couture, complimenting it with Christian Louboutin heels and stunning Repose jewelry.
To Turtleneck or Not to Turtleneck
As we mentioned up top, Leandra Medine is not only fabulous and partnering with Fendi to design one of their new 3Baguette bags, she’s also the founder of Man Repeller, a super cheeky, super fashionable blog that dishes out some of the best down to earth fashion advice we’ve ever seen. If you want to know how to look amazing, and get a good laugh while reading all about it, Man Repeller is a must-read.
Last month Leandra authored this great article on the winter wear staple, the Turtleneck, and gave us some amazing ideas on When Don’t Turtlenecks Work? The synopsis? Pretty much never. Give it a read, have a laugh, and wear your turtleneck with pride.

Ever since Pintrest came on the map, we’ve realized we have a bit of a crafty side. Designing is something we love, and we love all the positive feedback we get when we put our own style twist out there through a fun fashion based craft.
That’s why last month we totally loved the Keiko Lynn’s DIY Striped Suitcase Tutorial on her blog. She shows you how, in six easy steps, to up-cycle an old suitcase into a fun modern piece of art!
After we got crafty we checked out the rest of her blog, and fell in love with her fashion tips, make up tricks, and other DIY projects.
